Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the Central Coast region, start by getting onto US-101 S towards Los Angeles. Continue on US-101 S for approximately 90 miles. Take the exit for CA-46 E towards Lost Hills. Follow CA-46 E for about 29 miles until you reach I-5 N. Merge onto I-5 N and continue for about 30 miles. Take exit 78 for CA-99 S towards Bakersfield. After approximately 15 miles, take exit 64 for Avenue 56. Turn left onto Avenue 56 and travel for 5 miles until you reach Grant Dr. Turn right onto Grant Dr, and the Allensworth Historic Town Site will be on your left at 4011 Grant Dr, Earlimart, CA 93219.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Allensworth Historic Town Site via public transportation, you will need to take a bus from a nearby city, such as Bakersfield. Start by taking a Greyhound or local bus to Bakersfield. From the Bakersfield bus station, you can catch a local transit bus (such as Kern County Transit) that goes towards Earlimart. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently. Upon arriving in Earlimart, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service for the last leg of your journey to 4011 Grant Dr, as public transportation may not directly reach the historic site.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous cyclists, you can bike from nearby towns. If starting from Earlimart, head south on Grant Dr towards Division St, then turn onto Avenue 56 and follow it west. This ride is about 5 miles and will take you through rural landscapes. Ensure you wear a helmet and reflective gear, and check the weather before your ride.
