If arriving by public transport from within Santa Cruz, several Santa Cruz Metro bus routes serve the Boardwalk area. Routes 3 and 19 from the downtown Metro Center are convenient options. Get off at a stop near the Wharf, which is a short walk from the Boardwalk. A single ride fare on Santa Cruz Metro is around $2-$3. The Santa Cruz Trolley also operates between downtown and the beach area during the summer months for a small fee, offering a convenient and enjoyable way to reach the Boardwalk.

From downtown Santa Cruz, the Boardwalk is an easy 20-25 minute walk. Head south on Pacific Avenue towards the beach. Turn left onto Beach Street and continue until you reach the Boardwalk entrance. Alternatively, from the Santa Cruz Wharf, simply walk east along the beach to reach the Boardwalk. The walk from the Wharf is less than 10 minutes and offers scenic views of the Monterey Bay.
