From the Monterey Bay Aquarium, exit the aquarium and head northwest on Cannery Row. Walk for about 0.5 miles (approximately 10-15 minutes) until you reach the intersection with Lighthouse Avenue. Turn left onto Lighthouse Avenue and continue walking for another 0.5 miles. You will reach the area around Lighthouse and Eardley in Pacific Grove, where the 'Welcome to the city of Monterey' sign is located. This route offers beautiful views of the coastline, so take your time and enjoy the scenery!

Public Transportation (Bus)
From the Monterey Bay Aquarium, walk to the nearest bus stop located at Cannery Row. Take the Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) Bus #1 towards Pacific Grove. The bus ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes, and you should disembark at the stop closest to Lighthouse Avenue. From there, it’s a short walk of about 5-10 minutes to reach the sign at Lighthouse and Eardley. Please check the MST website for the latest fare information (as of October 2023, a one-way fare is $2.00).

If you prefer to bicycle, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental shops near the aquarium. After renting, exit the aquarium and head northwest along Cannery Row. Continue for about 0.5 miles and then turn left onto Lighthouse Avenue. This bike ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Be cautious of pedestrians and enjoy the ride along the scenic coastal route. Rental fees may vary, typically ranging from $10 to $30 per day.
