From there, transfer to the County Connection bus route 5, heading towards 'Walnut Creek.' Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Castle Rock Rd & Mt. Diablo Blvd.' From the bus stop, walk north on Castle Rock Rd for about 15 minutes until you reach Castle Rock Regional Recreation Area.

    If you have access to a bike, start at downtown Walnut Creek. Head north on N Main St, then take a left onto Mt. Diablo Blvd. Follow Mt. Diablo Blvd until you reach Castle Rock Rd. Turn right onto Castle Rock Rd, and continue for about 1.5 miles, where you will find the entrance to Castle Rock Regional Recreation Area.
