Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From the Walnut Creek BART station, walk to the bus stop at Ygnacio Valley Road and Walnut Avenue. Take County Connection Route 10 towards Concord BART. From there, transfer to bus line 10 at the bus terminal. The bus will take you towards Diablo Foothills Regional Park. Get off at the stop closest to 'Castle Rock Rd' near the park entrance. Walk a short distance (about 0.5 miles) to reach the park entrance at 1700 Castle Rock Rd. A single ride on County Connection is around $2.25.

  • Driving

    From I-680, exit at Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek and drive east. After about three miles, turn right on Walnut Avenue. After about two miles, turn right on Oak Grove Road, then bear right onto Castle Rock Road and follow it to the Orchard Staging Area on the right. Limited free parking is available at the end of Castle Rock Road. Note that the Orchard Staging Area is not paved and may be closed during wet weather.
