The Ferry Building is easily accessible via public transportation. BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) has a stop at Embarcadero Station, which is a short walk away. Many MUNI (San Francisco Municipal Railway) lines, including buses, trains, and streetcars, stop near the Ferry Building. The F Line streetcar stops directly in front of the Ferry Building. A single ride on Muni is $3.00 ($2.50 with Clipper card or MuniMobile). A day pass costs $5.70. BART fares vary depending on the distance traveled.

The Ferry Building is located on the Embarcadero, easily walkable from many downtown locations. From Market Street, simply head east towards the waterfront. The Ferry Building will be directly in front of you. Walking from Union Square takes approximately 20-30 minutes.

Several ferry lines serve the Ferry Building, including Golden Gate Ferry and San Francisco Bay Ferry. Ferries arrive from various locations in the Bay Area, such as Sausalito, Larkspur, Oakland, and Alameda. Check the schedules and fares for specific routes. Golden Gate Ferry fares from Sausalito or Larkspur to San Francisco are approximately $14.75 cash ($10.00 Clipper).

Ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft can drop you off directly in front of the Ferry Building. However, traffic can be heavy, especially during peak market hours. A ride from Union Square typically costs $15-25, depending on demand.

Driving to the Ferry Building is possible, but parking can be challenging and expensive. Several parking garages are located within a few blocks. Validated parking at the Embarcadero Center 4 Parking Lot costs $3 per hour without validation, or $2 for 0-4 hours with validation at the Info Booth. The ProPark Parking Lot at Embarcadero and Washington is another option. Street parking is also available, but metered and often limited to two hours. Motorcycle parking is available north of the Ferry Building at Pier 1/2 for $0.50/hour from 7 am to 7 pm.
