From I-680 in Walnut Creek, exit at Ygnacio Valley Road and head east. Turn right onto Walnut Avenue, then right onto Oak Grove Road. Bear right onto Castle Rock Road and follow it to the Orchard Staging Area. Parking is free but limited. Expect heavier traffic during weekends and holidays. Parking is free.

While there is public transportation to the vicinity, it may require a significant walk to reach the park entrance. Check the County Connection bus routes for the closest stop to Castle Rock Road, and then walk north to the Orchard Staging Area. A single bus fare is approximately $2.50.

From the intersection of Ygnacio Valley Road and Walnut Avenue in Walnut Creek, head north on Walnut Avenue, then turn right onto Oak Grove Road. Bear right onto Castle Rock Road and follow it to the Orchard Staging Area. This is a lengthy walk (approximately 5 miles) and is best suited for experienced hikers. There are no entrance fees for the park.
