Willow Beach Cottages, located on Lake Kashagawigamog in the Haliburton Highlands, offers a serene retreat steeped in local history. The Holland family, founders of Willow Beach Cottages, were among the first seven families to settle in the Haliburton region. James Holland, who started trapping in the area as early as 1857, decided to settle permanently on the property in 1861. In the late 1860s, he ran the local hotel in Haliburton village and planted the willow trees that still adorn the waterfront today. One of James Holland's descendants founded the current resort in the early 1950s. Today, Willow Beach Cottages features privately owned and well-maintained cottages spread across nearly 5 acres. The cottages offer a range of sizes and amenities, with options from two to four bedrooms, including a wheelchair-accessible cottage. Guests can enjoy a sandy beach, waterfront access, and various activities for every season. In winter, visitors can enjoy ice skating, dog sledding, and access to snowmobile trails. During the warmer months, swimming, boating, canoeing, and kayaking are popular activities. Nearby attractions include art galleries, museums, and the Haliburton Sculpture Forest.
