By 1975, the dam and power station had deteriorated and were no longer profitable, leading to their demolition. In collaboration with Hydro-Québec, the city of Sainte-Adèle transformed the area into the Doncaster River Park, which opened to the public in 1990.Today, the park boasts nearly 10 kilometers of well-maintained hiking trails that cater to various skill levels. The trails wind through mixed forests and along the river, offering scenic views and a chance to observe local wildlife. In the winter, the hiking trails convert to snowshoeing trails.
