Doncaster River Park: A Natural Oasis in Sainte-Adèle

Doncaster River Park, nestled in Sainte-Adèle, Quebec, is a haven of natural beauty and tranquility. The park's landscape is defined by the Doncaster River, a tributary of the Rivière du Nord, and the surrounding lush wooded areas. By 1975, the dam and power station had deteriorated and were no longer profitable, leading to their demolition. In collaboration with Hydro-Québec, the city of Sainte-Adèle transformed the area into the Doncaster River Park, which opened to the public in 1990.Today, the park boasts nearly 10 kilometers of well-maintained hiking trails that cater to various skill levels. The trails wind through mixed forests and along the river, offering scenic views and a chance to observe local wildlife. In the winter, the hiking trails convert to snowshoeing trails.
