If you are in the Centro Histórico area, start at the Plaza de Bolívar, a central hub in Tunja. From the plaza, head south on Calle 19 toward Carrera 9. After about 5 minutes, you will reach Carrera 9. Turn left onto Carrera 9 and continue walking for about 4 blocks. You will see the Cathedral Basilica of St. James the Apostle on your right at Cra. 9 #19-44.

Find a local bus that routes through the Centro Histórico. Most buses will have signage indicating they travel to the Cathedral area. Board the bus and tell the driver you want to go to the Catedral. A one-way ticket costs approximately 2,100 COP. Once you reach the stop near the Cathedral Basilica, get off and walk south along Carrera 9 for two blocks.
