From Tunja, head to the main bus terminal, Terminal de Transporte de Tunja. Look for buses heading to Villa de Leyva. The buses are frequent, and the journey takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Villa de Leyva bus terminal, exit the terminal and head straight along Calle 8. Continue on this road until you reach Plaza Mayor. The Museo Paleontológico is located a short walk from the plaza, at Carrera 9, near the intersection with Calle 10.

At Tunja's main square (Plaza de Bolívar), you can find shared taxis that go to Villa de Leyva. Look for the taxis that have 'Villa de Leyva' marked on them. They leave when full, so it may take a short while to wait. The ride takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Villa de Leyva, ask the driver to drop you off at Plaza Mayor. From there, the Museo Paleontológico is just a 5-minute walk. Head down Calle 8 towards the museum.
