Car
To reach Balcony House in Mesa Verde National Park from any location in Southern Colorado, first navigate to US-160 W. If you're coming from Durango, take US-550 N to US-160 W. From there, follow US-160 W for approximately 40 miles until you reach the entrance of Mesa Verde National Park. After entering the park, follow the park road for about 12 miles to the Balcony House parking area. Note that there is an entrance fee of $30 per vehicle, valid for 7 days. Once parked, you will need to hike a short trail to reach the Balcony House.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you can take a bus from Durango to Cortez. Once in Cortez, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Mesa Verde National Park, as public transport does not serve the park directly. The taxi ride will take about 30 minutes and may cost around $40. Upon reaching the park, you will still need to pay the entrance fee of $30 per vehicle, even if you are dropped off.
