Walking
Start from the main street in Matavera, Ara Tapu. Head east along Ara Tapu until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the beach. Turn left at the intersection and continue walking along the beach road, enjoying the ocean views. After approximately 500 meters, you will see a small path on your right that leads inland. Follow this path for about 200 meters, and you will arrive at Rakoroa cottage, which is located at P6HW+556, Ara Tapu in the Takitumu District.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Matavera community center. Ride south along Ara Tapu towards the beach. When you reach the beach, continue along the coastal road. After around 1 kilometer, look for a small path on your left that leads towards the interior. Follow this path for about 200 meters to Rakoroa cottage, which is situated at P6HW+556, Ara Tapu, Takitumu District.
