Getting There

• Car

  To reach Parque Nacional Los Quetzales from Manuel Antonio National Park by car, start by heading east on Route 34 (Costanera Sur) towards Quepos. Continue on Route 34 for approximately 26 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 2 (Interamericana Norte). Turn left onto Route 2 and continue for about 40 kilometers. Look for signs that indicate Santa María. As you approach Santa María, follow the signs leading you to Parque Nacional Los Quetzales. The entrance is located at the coordinates J55H+C2Q, which you can input into your GPS for exact navigation.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take a bus from the Manuel Antonio area to San Isidro de El General. Buses from Quepos to San Isidro run frequently and the fare is approximately 2,000-3,000 CRC. Once in San Isidro, transfer to a local bus heading to Santa María. The fare for this leg is around 1,500 CRC. Once you arrive in Santa María, you can take a taxi or a local shuttle to the entrance of Parque Nacional Los Quetzales, which is about 15 minutes away. Ensure to check the bus schedules ahead of time as they may vary.

  For a more comfortable option, consider hiring a taxi or a private shuttle from Manuel Antonio to Parque Nacional Los Quetzales. This can be arranged through your hotel or local tour operators. The cost may vary, but expect to pay between 60,000 to 80,000 CRC for the trip, which will take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic.
