  • Driving

    From San José, take the South Pan-American Highway (Route 2) southeast for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Pass through Casa Mata and Providencia until you reach KM 80. Turn right at KM 80 (look for the bus stop and Bar “Los Jilgueros”). Follow the gravel road for 7 km, then turn left at the Trogon Lodge sign. Note: The last 7 km are steep, windy, and narrow. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended, especially during the rainy season. Parking is available at the lodge free of charge.

    Take a Transportes MUSOC bus from San José to San Isidro del General. These buses stop at Kilometer 80, approximately 2 hours from San José. Inform the driver that you need to get off at KM 80. From KM 80, pre-arrange a taxi to Trogon Lodge, as there are no taxis waiting at the bus stop. A taxi from KM 80 to Trogon Lodge costs approximately $20 USD.
