Car
From the Caribbean Coast, drive west towards San José. Take Route 32, which is a scenic road that leads through Braulio Carrillo National Park. Continue on Route 32 until you reach the intersection with Route 10. Turn right onto Route 10, heading towards San Isidro de El General. After approximately 37 km, you will see a sign for San Gerardo de Dota. Turn left onto the road that leads to San Gerardo de Dota. Continue driving for about 15 km until you arrive at the Savegre trails located at H52R+7GP, C. los Chacones, San Gerardo de Dota. Make sure to have a GPS or map ready as the roads can be winding and may require careful navigation.

Public Transportation
From the Caribbean Coast, take a bus to San José. Buses are available from various towns along the coast, such as Puerto Viejo or Cahuita. Once you arrive in San José, head to the Terminal 7-10 and catch a bus to San Isidro de El General. The bus ride takes around 3-4 hours. From San Isidro, you will need to get a taxi or a local bus to San Gerardo de Dota, which is approximately 30 minutes away. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Savegre trails located at H52R+7GP, C. los Chacones, San Gerardo de Dota. Be prepared for additional costs for the taxi or local bus fare.
