Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from anywhere in Bohemia, take the D1 motorway towards Prague. Once you reach Prague, follow the signs for 'Centrum' and continue onto the E50 road. As you approach the city center, look for signs indicating towards 'Staré Město' (Old Town). Upon entering the Old Town area, follow the signs to the Vltava River and head towards the 'Střelecký ostrov' (Shooting Island). You can park at a nearby parking facility, such as 'Parking Centrum' located at 14.5, 50.0821, 14.4101, which is a short walk to the memorial.

• Public Transportation

  From any location in Bohemia, take a train or bus to Prague. Once in Prague, use the metro system. The nearest metro station to 'Pamětní deska prvních oslav 1. Máje na Střeleckém ostrově' is 'Karlovy lázně' on Line B (the yellow line). After exiting the metro, walk towards the Vltava River and cross the bridge to reach 'Střelecký ostrov'. It is a short 10-minute walk from the metro station.

• Tram

  Another option is to take a tram to the area. You can get on any tram that goes to 'Staroměstská' or 'Malostranská'. From either stop, you can walk towards the Vltava River and follow the signs to 'Střelecký ostrov'. The walk will take about 10-15 minutes.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, renting a bike is a great way to explore Prague. You can rent a bike from various rental shops in the city. Once you have a bike, head towards the Vltava River and follow the bike paths along the riverbank which will lead you directly to 'Střelecký ostrov'.
