Car
Starting from Blackbird State Forest, exit the forest heading south on Blackbird Landing Road. After about 3 miles, turn left onto Route 9 (South Dupont Highway). Continue on Route 9 for about 8 miles until you reach the junction with Route 1. Take the exit onto Route 1 North towards Wilmington. Follow Route 1 for approximately 5 miles and take the exit for Delaware City. Continue on Route 9 for another mile, then turn left onto Wilmington Avenue. Fort DuPont State Park will be on your right, with parking available on-site.

Public Transportation
From Blackbird State Forest, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to the nearest public transportation hub, which is located in Dover. Once in Dover, board the DART First State bus Route 1 towards Wilmington. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Delaware City stop. From there, you can either walk about 1.5 miles to Fort DuPont State Park along Route 9 or request another taxi/rideshare to take you directly to the park. Be aware that using public transportation may require a wait time for buses, and the bus fare is around $2 per ride.
