Getting There

  • Car

    From Brandywine Creek State Park, head southwest on Brandywine Creek Rd toward Route 202. Turn left onto Route 202 and continue for about 5 miles. Merge onto I-95 S via the ramp on the left. After approximately 5 miles, take exit 4A for Route 13 S toward Delaware City. Follow Route 13 S for about 8 miles, then turn left onto Wilmington Ave. Fort DuPont State Park will be on your right.

  • Public Transportation

    From Brandywine Creek State Park, walk to the nearest bus stop (located at Route 202 and Brandywine Creek Rd). Take the DART First State bus #64 heading toward Delaware City. Ride for about 30 minutes until you reach the Delaware City stop. From there, walk approximately 0.5 miles south on Route 9 and then turn right onto Wilmington Ave. Fort DuPont State Park will be on your left.

  • Bicycle

    For those who prefer cycling, exit Brandywine Creek State Park and head south on Brandywine Creek Rd. Ride toward Route 202, then turn left onto Route 202. After 5 miles, turn left onto I-95 S and follow the dedicated bike lanes or paths to Route 13 S. Once you reach Wilmington Ave, turn left and continue for about 1 mile to reach Fort DuPont State Park.
