Public Transport

From Roseau, take a bus to the village of Trafalgar from the main bus terminal. The bus fare is approximately $2-3 EC dollars. From Trafalgar, it's a short, well-signposted walk to the falls' entrance.

Taxi

Hire a taxi from Roseau to Trafalgar Falls. Negotiate the fare, but expect to pay around $20-30 EC dollars one way. Arrange for the taxi to return at a specified time. Companies that offer this service include Tru Taxi Service, Master Taxi & Tours, and Dominica Taxi Association.

Driving

From Roseau, drive approximately 5 miles east towards the village of Trafalgar. Continue straight along the main road until you reach the end, where you'll find a parking area, vendor stalls, and a visitor center. Note that the road is mountainous.

Trafalgar Falls, located approximately 5 miles east of Roseau, are a captivating set of twin waterfalls nestled within Dominica's lush rainforest. Known locally as the 'Father' and 'Mother,' these falls have carved their path through volcanic rock over centuries, sustained by the island's abundant rainfall. The 'Father' fall is the taller of the two, cascading down 125 feet, while the 'Mother' fall descends 75 feet.The journey to the falls is an immersive experience, with a well-maintained path leading through towering trees and exotic flora. The path leads to a viewing platform that offers a safe vantage point to appreciate the falls. Adventurous visitors can take a guided trek to the base of the falls, navigating a boulder field to discover refreshing pools and natural hot springs. The area is known for its unique sulphur springs, mixing warm and cold water.While it's possible to explore the boulder field independently, it's easy to lose your way, so a guide is recommended. Visitors should exercise caution as the rocks can be slippery, especially on rainy days.
