If you're driving, start from Quito, which is about 67 kilometers away from Laguna Papallacta. Take the Pan-American Highway (E35) heading east. After approximately 40 kilometers, take the exit toward Papallacta (EC-28). Follow the signs for Papallacta, and continue on this road for about 27 kilometers. You will pass through the small town of Papallacta before reaching the lagoon. Keep an eye out for signs to Laguna Papallacta as you approach the area. There is no entry fee for the lake itself, but if you wish to use the thermal baths nearby, there may be a charge.
