Upon arrival at the Ilomantsi bus station, a taxi or ridesharing service can be used to reach Taitajan Taival Hiking Trail. The trailhead is approximately 10 km from the bus station, with taxi fares ranging from 15 to 25 euros.

From the center of Ilomantsi, take Petkeljärventie road (Road 490) heading northeast. Continue for approximately 10 km until you see signs for Taitajan Taival Hiking Trail. The trailhead is located at Petkeljärventie 62, 82980 Ilomantsi. A parking area is available for visitors. Parking is free.
