From Clermont-Ferrand, take the D941 towards Vulcania/Puy de Dôme. Follow the signs for the specific volcano you wish to visit. Parking is available at the base of most major volcanoes, such as Puy de Dôme (free parking available, 1500 spaces). Parking at Puy Pariou is also available. Be aware that parking areas can fill up quickly during peak season. Some smaller Puys have limited or no designated parking; be mindful of where you park to avoid obstructing local traffic or damaging the environment.

From Clermont-Ferrand, take the 'Navette Panoramique des Dômes' bus to the base of Puy de Dôme. This shuttle operates daily from April to early November. A ticket for the bus costs around €3. The 'Navette Volcans' bus connects Clermont-Ferrand to Vulcania and Volcan de Lemptégy, providing access to other hiking points. From Volvic, the Clermont-Ferrand-Le Mont Dore regional train line provides access. From the train station, there is free parking available.
