Getting There

Car

If you're driving from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, take Route Blanche (N205) towards Les Praz. Follow the signs for Montenvers and the Mer de Glace. After approximately 5 km, you will reach the parking area near the Montenvers train station. There is a paid parking facility available, so ensure you have coins or a card for payment. Once parked, follow the signs to the Montenvers train station.
Train

From the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc train station, you can take the Montenvers train (also known as the Montenvers Mer de Glace train). The train departs regularly, and the journey takes about 20 minutes. Make sure to purchase your ticket at the station or online in advance. The ticket costs approximately €30 for a round trip. When you arrive at Montenvers station, follow the signs to the Téléphérique Mer de Glace.
Hiking

For the more adventurous, you can hike to the Montenvers station from Chamonix. The hike is about 1.5 hours and is moderately challenging. Starting from the center of Chamonix, follow the signs towards Montenvers. Once you reach Montenvers, head to the Téléphérique Mer de Glace for your ascent.
Cable Car

Once you arrive at the Montenvers station, you will see the Téléphérique Mer de Glace cable car station. The cable car takes you down to the Mer de Glace glacier.
