Car

If you are driving from Chamonix, head east on Route Blanche toward the A40 motorway. Continue on Route Blanche for about 4 kilometers until you reach the junction for the Montenvers train station. Turn left onto Chemin de Montenvers and follow the signs for 'Mer de Glace'. There is a parking area at Montenvers station where you can leave your car. Note that parking fees may apply.
Public Transportation

From Chamonix center, take the Montenvers Railway (the train departs from the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc station). The ride takes approximately 20 minutes and offers stunning views of the valley.
