Getting There

  • Walking

    From the heart of Old Tbilisi, head towards the main street, Rustaveli Avenue. Walk along Rustaveli until you reach the intersection with Gudiashvili Street. Turn onto Gudiashvili Street and continue straight. After about 10 minutes, you will see the entrance to the Funicular Railway on your left. This is a great way to ascend the hill without much effort.

    Purchase a ticket for the Funicular Railway at the station (cost: approximately 1 GEL). Once you board, enjoy the scenic ride up to Mtatsminda Park. The ride takes about 10 minutes. Upon exiting the funicular, follow the signs to Mother of Georgia. It’s a short walk from the top station.
