    From Vardzia, take the main road (E117) heading southeast towards the town of Akhaltsikhe. Drive for about 20 kilometers until you reach the crossroads near the village of Tmogvi. Here, turn left onto the road leading to Paravani Lake. Continue on this road for approximately 15 kilometers. Follow the signs towards Paravani Lake. There are some unpaved sections, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended. The total drive should take around 40 minutes.

    From Vardzia, you can catch a marshrutka (minibus) to Akhaltsikhe. Marshrutkas leave frequently from the central square near the monastery. The ride to Akhaltsikhe takes about 30 minutes and costs around 2 GEL. Once you arrive in Akhaltsikhe, you will need to change to another marshrutka heading towards Paravani Lake. Ensure to ask the driver if they can drop you off close to the lake, as some may not go all the way. The second leg of the journey will take about 20-30 minutes.
