From Vardzia, take the main road (E117) heading southeast towards the town of Akhaltsikhe. Drive for about 20 kilometers until you reach the crossroads near the village of Tmogvi. Here, turn left onto the road leading to Paravani Lake. Continue on this road for approximately 15 kilometers. Follow the signs towards Paravani Lake. There are some unpaved sections, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended. The total drive should take around 40 minutes.

From Vardzia, you can catch a marshrutka (minibus) to Akhaltsikhe. Marshrutkas leave frequently from the central square near the monastery.
