    If you are starting from Freiburg's main train station (Freiburg Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head south towards Bismarckallee. Turn right onto Bismarckallee, and walk straight for about 10 minutes. You will reach the intersection with Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. Turn left onto Kaiser-Joseph-Straße and continue to the center of the city. After walking for another 5 minutes, you will reach the Martinstor, a historic gate. From there, continue on the same street until you reach the small street on your right called Martinsgässle. Martin's Gate is located at the end of this street.

  • Public Transport - Tram

    From the main train station (Freiburg Hauptbahnhof), take tram line 1 or tram line 3 heading towards the city center. Get off at the 'Friedrichstraße' stop. From there, walk along Friedrichstraße towards the east until you reach the intersection with Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. Cross over to Kaiser-Joseph-Straße and continue straight for about 5 minutes. You will arrive at Martinstor, a historic gate. Continue straight and take the first right onto Martinsgässle. Martin's Gate is at the end of this street.

    If you are near the University of Freiburg, exit the university grounds towards the Stadtgarten. Walk southeast towards the city center and follow the signs to Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. Once you reach Kaiser-Joseph-Straße, turn left and walk for about 10 minutes until you reach Martinstor. After passing Martinstor, take the first right onto Martinsgässle, where you will find Martin's Gate.
