Start at the historic market square (Marktplatz) in Lübeck, which is a central location easily accessible from most tourist areas. From the square, head northeast on Breite Straße, continuing straight until you reach the intersection with Große Burgstraße. Turn left onto Große Burgstraße. Continue walking straight for about 500 meters, and you will find Burgtor on your right-hand side at Große Burgstraße 5. Look for the impressive stone structure, which is hard to miss.

If you are near the St. Mary's Church (Marienkirche), exit the church and head southeast on Mühlendamm. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Breite Straße. Turn left onto Breite Straße and walk until you reach the market square. From the market square, follow the previous directions to Burgtor.

If you are coming from the Lübeck train station (Lübeck Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and turn right onto Mühlenbrücke. Walk across the bridge and follow the road as it curves left to become An der Obertrave. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Breite Straße. Turn right on Breite Straße, and walk towards the market square. Then proceed as described earlier to reach Burgtor.
