Getting There

  • Public Transport - Tram

    If you are starting from the Nuremberg Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof), head to the tram stop located just outside the station. Take Tram Line 9 towards 'Röthenbach' and travel for about 5 stops. Get off at 'Opernhaus' stop. From there, walk straight along Richard-Wagner-Straße until you reach the 'Burgstraße' intersection. Turn right onto Burgstraße and continue walking until you see the signs for the Imperial Castle of Nuremberg (Kaiserburg). It will be on your left.

  • Walking

    If you are near the city center, you can easily walk to the Imperial Castle. Start at the Hauptmarkt (the main market square) and walk towards the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady). From the church, head towards the northwest, climbing the hill via the 'Burgstraße'. Follow the signs directing you to the castle. It should take around 15-20 minutes to reach the castle from the Hauptmarkt.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From the main square (Hauptmarkt), walk to the bus stop 'Hauptmarkt'. Board Bus Line 36 towards 'Wöhrder Wiese' and ride for 3 stops. Get off at 'Kaiserstraße'. From the bus stop, walk up Kaiserstraße, then turn left onto Burgstraße. Continue walking straight until you reach the Imperial Castle of Nuremberg, which will be on your right.
