The Holy Church of the Holy Trinity, located in Dio-Olympos, is a picturesque chapel that attracts many visitors with its stunning views of the Olympus peaks. Situated approximately 4 km from Vrontou at an altitude of 500 meters, the church is built on a steep, rocky slope. Originally a Byzantine building from the 14th century, the church may have been part of a monastery. Oral tradition suggests that the church, along with Panagia Kontariotissa, the Monastery of Agios Dionysios of Olympus, and the Diocese of Petra, were once part of a fire communication system used to alert locals of Turkish movements. Inside, two layers of hagiographies are preserved, dating back to 1350 and 1650. The church was accidentally burned in the 1960s due to burning candles, destroying a staircase that once led to the monks' living quarters on the upper floor. Despite this, it remains a popular destination for religious tourism, drawing visitors from around the world. Today, the Holy Church of the Holy Trinity continues to be a place of worship and a testament to the enduring faith and artistic heritage of the region.
