Car
If you are driving from central Verapaces, head towards the main highway that connects to Antigua Guatemala. Follow the signs for Antigua and stay on CA-1 for approximately 1 hour. As you approach Antigua, take the exit towards 'Cerro de La Cruz'. You will find parking available near the entrance to the trail leading up to the viewpoint. Expect to pay around Q10 for parking.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From the central bus terminal in Verapaces, look for buses heading towards Antigua Guatemala. The journey takes about 1 to 1.5 hours and costs around Q25. Once you arrive in Antigua, ask the driver to drop you off at the market area. From there, you can either take a taxi (around Q30) or walk to the entrance of the Cerro de La Cruz trail, which is about a 20-minute walk uphill from the market.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from anywhere in Verapaces to take you to Cerro de La Cruz. This will be more expensive, typically costing around Q150 to Q200 for the trip. The taxi driver will drop you off at the base of the trail leading to the viewpoint.
Walking
If you are staying close to Antigua and wish to experience the surroundings, you can walk to Cerro de La Cruz. From the central plaza in Antigua, head north towards the uphill trail that leads to the viewpoint. The walk takes about 30-45 minutes, and you will encounter beautiful scenery along the way.
