If you are starting from Vale Church, head south on Church Road towards the junction with Rue des Forges. Continue straight onto Rue des Forges and follow it until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route de la Mare. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you see the entrance to Candie Gardens on your left. Enter the gardens and follow the path to the left; the Victor Hugo Statue will be located in the gardens, offering a lovely view over the surrounding area.

From the Vale Castle, exit the castle grounds and turn right onto Rue de la Ville. Walk straight until you reach a T-junction, then turn left onto Route de la Mare. Continue straight for approximately 0.6 miles until you reach Candie Road. Turn right onto Candie Road, and you will see Candie Gardens on your left. Walk into the gardens, and you will find the Victor Hugo Statue along the paths.
