Getting There

  • Public Transport - Metro

    If you are near the Deák Ferenc tér metro station, take Line 1 (the yellow line) towards Vörösmarty tér. Get off at the next stop, which is the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út station. From there, walk towards the west on Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út, and turn left onto the Károly körút. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with the Andrássy út. Turn right onto Andrássy út and walk straight until you reach the Opera House. From the Opera House, continue walking along Andrássy út until you reach the Oktogon intersection. From there, take tram line 4 or 6 towards Széll Kálmán tér and get off at the Széll Kálmán tér stop. Transfer to bus 16 or 16A and ride to the Táncsics Mihály utca stop, which is a short walk from the Museum of Music History.

  • Walking

    If you are in the Buda Castle area, head towards the Chain Bridge (Lánchíd). Cross the bridge and once you arrive on the Pest side, follow the Váci utca towards the west until you reach the Kossuth Lajos tér, where the Hungarian Parliament Building is located. From Kossuth Lajos tér, walk to the north to the Alagút (the Buda Tunnel) and follow the signs to the Castle District. Walk up through the tunnel and exit towards the Szent György tér. Once you arrive at Szent György tér, continue towards the Táncsics Mihály utca, and the Museum of Music History will be just a short walk away.

  • Public Transport - Tram

    From the Nyugati pályaudvar (Western Railway Station), take tram line 4 or 6 towards Széll Kálmán tér. Get off at the Széll Kálmán tér stop. From there, transfer onto bus 16 or 16A and ride to the Táncsics Mihály utca stop. The Museum of Music History is a short walk from the bus stop, just follow the street signs.
