From Borgarnes, head to the local bus station, located at Borgarbraut 27. Check the bus schedules for routes heading towards Hraunfossar. The nearest bus stop for Hraunfossar is in Reykholt, which is approximately a 40-minute bus ride away. Make sure to buy a ticket from the bus driver or at the station. When you arrive at Reykholt, you need to walk about 3 kilometers to Hraunfossar Waterfall. Follow the road towards the north, and you will see signs directing you to the waterfall. The walk should take around 30 to 40 minutes.

If you are feeling adventurous, you can walk directly from Borgarnes to Hraunfossar Waterfall. This is a long walk of approximately 50 kilometers, so it's recommended only for experienced hikers. Start from Borgarnes and head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Reykholt. There are scenic views along the way, but make sure to bring enough water and snacks, as there are limited facilities. Once you reach Reykholt, follow the signs to Hraunfossar, which is about 3 kilometers from there.
