Car
To reach the War and Peace Museum by car from central Reykjavík, start by heading north on Snorrabraut (Route 41) and following the signs for Akranes. Continue on Route 41, which will eventually turn into Route 1. Stay on Route 1 for about 35 kilometers. Take the exit toward Akranes (Route 52). Follow Route 52 until you reach Akranesi. The museum is located at 47, 301 Akranesi. There is parking available on-site.

To get to the War and Peace Museum using public transportation, start at the Bus Terminal (BSÍ) in Reykjavík. Take the bus number 57 towards Akranes. The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Get off at the Akranes stop. From the bus stop, it’s a 10-minute walk to the museum. Head southeast on Lækjargata until you reach the intersection with Vesturgata, then turn left. Continue straight until you reach the museum at 47, 301 Akranesi. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest timings.
