Car
From Þingvellir National Park, head southwest on Route 36 (Þingvallavegur) towards the town of Laugarvatn. After about 9 km, merge onto Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading towards Reykjavik. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 30 km until you see the sign for Esjan, which is located on the right side of the road. Take the exit towards Esjan, and follow the access road that leads you to the mountain area where parking is available. Please note there may be parking fees that vary depending on the season.

Public Transportation
While public transportation options are limited directly from Þingvellir to Esjan, you can take a bus from the Þingvellir National Park to Reykjavik. Once in Reykjavik, take bus number 15 towards Sogamýri and get off at the stop for Esjan. The bus ride from Þingvellir to Reykjavik takes about 1 hour. From Reykjavik, the bus ride to Esjan will take approximately 30 minutes. Ensure to check the bus schedules ahead of time for the most accurate departure and arrival times.
