From Þingvellir National Park, head southwest on Route 36 (Þingvallavegur) towards the town of Laugarvatn. After about 9 km, merge onto Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading towards Reykjavik. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 30 km until you see the sign for Esjan, which is located on the right side of the road. Take the exit towards Esjan, and follow the access road that leads you to the mountain area where parking is available. Please note there may be parking fees that vary depending on the season.
