To reach the 424 Hvalfjörður Tunnel, start by finding the nearest bus stop in Hafnarfjörður. Take bus number 1 towards Reykjavík. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes until you reach the 'Reykjavik Bus Station' (BSÍ). Once you arrive, transfer to bus number 57 towards Akranes. Stay on for approximately 40 minutes until you reach the 'Hvalfjarðargöng' stop. From there, it is a short walk to the entrance of the tunnel.

If you prefer walking, start from the Hafnarfjörður town center and head towards the coast. Walk along the shore road until you reach 'Hafnarfjörður Harbour'. From there, continue north along the pedestrian path until you reach the intersection with 'Reykjavik Road' (Route 40). Follow this road for about 12 km, which might take around 3 hours on foot. Be cautious as this route does not have pedestrian sidewalks for the entire distance.
