From nearby Starved Rock State Park, walking to Kayak Starved Rock Campground requires crossing the Illinois River. This is not possible directly. Instead, walk or drive back towards Ottawa and access N 27th Road to reach the campground. Be mindful of traffic on N 27th Road.
