Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Shillong (Police Bazaar), head towards the main road (GS Road) and walk towards the direction of the Shillong Golf Course. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the traffic intersection at the Golf Course. From there, take a right turn onto the road leading to the Golf Course. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you see the entrance to the Shillong Peak on your left. The trail to the peak will be well marked.

  • Shared Taxi

    From Police Bazaar, you can take a shared taxi (also known as 'sumo') towards Shillong Peak. Head to the taxi stand located near the Police Bazaar area. Look for taxis that display 'Shillong Peak' as their destination. The fare is usually around ₹50 per person. The taxi will take you directly to the entrance of Shillong Peak. Once you reach, you'll need to pay the entry fee and can start your hike up the peak.

  • Local Bus

    You can board a local bus from the main bus stand at Police Bazaar that is heading towards Jowai or any bus that passes by the Shillong Peak route. Make sure to inform the conductor that you want to get off at Shillong Peak. The bus will drop you off at the nearest point to the entrance. Remember to check the bus timings as they may vary throughout the day.
