If you are in Campustown, start at the intersection of Lincoln Way and Welch Ave. Head west on Lincoln Way for about 0.5 miles. You will pass by several shops and restaurants. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with 24th St. Turn left onto 24th St. and continue for about 0.2 miles. The Site of First House in West Ames Historical Marker will be on your left, located at 24th St and the corner of the marker area.

Begin your bike ride from the Iowa State University campus. Head west on Lincoln Way and follow the bike lanes for approximately 1 mile. After you reach the intersection with 24th St, turn left and continue biking for about an additional 0.2 miles. The Site of First House in West Ames Historical Marker will be on your left side, just before you reach the end of 24th St.
