Meredith Park, affectionately known as Plover Pit, is a delightful recreational area situated 1.5 miles north of Plover, in north-central Pocahontas County, Iowa. This park provides a refreshing escape with its 5.5-acre natural lake, perfect for swimming and fishing. The sandy beach invites visitors to relax and soak up the sun, while the clear waters offer a chance to cool off during the summer months.Families will appreciate the playground, notably constructed from 15,000 recycled milk jugs, offering a fun and eco-conscious play area for children. For those looking to extend their stay, the Meredith Park Campground features 17 electric camping sites with water hookups, a six-person camping cabin, modern restrooms and showers, and a septic dump station. Please note that Pocahontas County Conservation does not take camping reservations; camper registration envelopes are available in the campgrounds.The park is open seasonally, typically from May 1 to October 15, weather permitting, and closes at 10:30 PM. Whether you're interested in a leisurely picnic, a refreshing swim, or a peaceful camping trip, Meredith Park offers a welcoming outdoor experience.
