    Rathbaun Farm is located in a rural area of Southwest County Galway in Ardrahan. From Galway, follow the signs for the N18 towards Limerick. After approximately 20 minutes, take the Ardrahan exit. Follow the signs for Ardrahan village. Once in Ardrahan, follow the signposts for Rathbaun Farm. The farm is situated on a 'little road' to the right and is well signposted. Ample parking is available for cars and buses. There are no tolls on this route.

    From Galway, take the Bus Éireann Route 51 or an Irish Rail train to Ardrahan. The bus journey takes approximately 30 minutes and costs between €5 and €16. The train journey takes approximately 40 minutes and costs between €4 and €7. From Ardrahan village, a taxi to Rathbaun Farm is approximately €15 - €20. Taxis are not readily available at the train/bus station, so pre-booking is recommended.

For over 200 years, the Burke and Connolly family have farmed these 80 acres, with Fintan Connolly continuing the tradition today. Visitors are welcomed into a picturesque setting featuring a thatched cottage, complete with a turf fire and original stone walls. During a visit, guests gain insight into the daily workings of a sheep farm, with opportunities to see and interact with the animals. From March to November, you can hand-feed newborn lambs, a truly memorable experience for all ages. Fintan shares his knowledge of the different sheep and cattle breeds, offering an educational and enjoyable tour. You might even catch a sheep-shearing demonstration or see the farm's Border Collie, rounding up the sheep. Frances and her team extend a warm Irish welcome, serving freshly baked scones, soda bread, and preserves, along with a pot of Irish tea. Guests can relax in the cozy cottage, chat with the family, and even try their hand at making scones. Rathbaun Farm is more than just a tourist attraction; it's an immersive experience that showcases the beauty and traditions of rural Ireland.
