Walking
If you are starting from the central Piazza Vittorio Veneto, head southeast towards Via Lucana. Continue straight on Via Lucana for about 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Via del Corso. Turn left onto Via del Corso and walk for about 200 meters. You will see a sign for the Sassi area. Follow the signs down the stairs that lead into the Sassi di Matera. Continue walking down into the ancient cave dwellings, taking in the views. After about 500 meters, you will turn right onto Vico Solitario. Casa Grotta nei Sassi di Matera will be on your left at number 11.

From Matera's main bus station (Stazione degli Autobus), take bus line 1 towards the Sassi. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to the Sassi area. Once you exit the bus, follow the signs towards the Sassi. Walk down the steps into the Sassi di Matera, and take the first right onto Vico Solitario. Casa Grotta nei Sassi di Matera is located at number 11 on this street.
