From the center of Perugia, head to the main bus station, 'Piazza Partigiani'. Take the bus line E037 towards Assisi. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at 'Assisi' bus station. From there, you can follow the signs to the Basilica, which is about a 15-minute walk. Head up Via San Francesco, and you will arrive at Piazza Inferiore di S. Francesco.

Walk to the Perugia train station, 'Stazione di Perugia'. Take a train towards Assisi. The ride will last about 25 minutes. Once you arrive at Assisi train station, exit the station and walk towards the bus stop outside. Take the bus to the town center or follow the signs to the Basilica. The walk from the bus stop to the Papal Basilica takes about 20 minutes.

Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and the weather is nice, you can walk from Perugia to Assisi. Start at the main square, 'Piazza IV Novembre', and head towards Via dei Priori. Follow the signs towards Assisi, which is approximately a 25-minute walk from the city center. Once you reach Assisi, continue on to Piazza Inferiore di S. Francesco, where the Basilica is located.
