If you're starting from Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square), head towards the Basilica di San Marco. From there, walk straight down the Via dei Fabbri until you reach the first canal. Turn right and follow the canal until you see the bridge. Cross the bridge, and then continue straight until you reach a small square. The entrance to Bacino Orseolo will be on your left, just past the hotel Monaco & Grand Canal.

If you prefer to take a water taxi, make your way to the nearest Vaporetto (water bus) stop. Look for a Vaporetto line that goes towards San Marco. Get off at the San Marco stop. From there, you can either walk as described above or ask your water taxi driver to drop you off directly at Bacino Orseolo, which is a popular spot for gondola rides.
