Car
If you are driving to Zenpoji Temple from Dewa, head south on Route 7 towards Tsuruoka. Continue for approximately 30 kilometers. Once you reach Tsuruoka, follow signs for 'Sekine' and turn onto Route 345. After about 5 kilometers, turn left onto Sekine Road. The temple will be on your right at Sekine-100 Shimogawa. There is parking available near the temple.

Public Transportation (Train and Bus)
To reach Zenpoji Temple using public transportation from Dewa, start by taking the JR Uetsu Line from Dewa Station to Tsuruoka Station. This journey takes about 30 minutes. From Tsuruoka Station, exit the station and look for the bus terminal. Take the 'Sekine' bus (check the schedule as it may vary) and get off at the 'Zenpoji' stop. The temple is a short walk from the bus stop. The bus fare is approximately 500 yen.

For the more adventurous, cycling to Zenpoji Temple is a scenic option. Rent a bicycle in Dewa and follow Route 7 south towards Tsuruoka. The journey is roughly 30 kilometers and will take about 2 hours, depending on your cycling speed. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful landscape of Yamagata Prefecture. Once in Tsuruoka, follow the directions as mentioned for driving to reach the temple. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling laws.
