Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Hakata Station, exit the station and head south towards the main road, Chikushi Dori. Turn right onto Chikushi Dori and walk straight for about 10 minutes. When you reach the intersection with Watanabe Dori, continue straight. After approximately 5 more minutes, you will see the entrance to Sumiyoshi Jinja on your left at 3 Chome-1-51 Sumiyoshi.

  • Subway

    From Hakata Station, take the Kuko Line (Airport Line) towards Nakasu-Kawabata Station. Get off at the next stop, which is Gion Station. Exit Gion Station and turn left onto Watanabe Dori. Walk straight for about 10 minutes. When you reach the intersection with Chikushi Dori, turn right and continue walking for about 5 minutes until you see the entrance to Sumiyoshi Jinja on your left at 3 Chome-1-51 Sumiyoshi.

    From Hakata Station, head to the bus terminal located outside the station. Take bus number 100 or 10 heading towards Hakata Bus Terminal. Get off at Sumiyoshi Shrine Bus Stop. From the bus stop, walk about 5 minutes to the entrance of Sumiyoshi Jinja, which will be on your right at 3 Chome-1-51 Sumiyoshi.
