From Hitachi, take Route 6 (also known as the Joban Expressway) south towards Tokyo. Stay on Route 6 for approximately 80 kilometers. As you approach Tokyo, follow the signs for Shinjuku, and merge onto the Shuto Expressway. Take the exit for Chiyoda and follow signs for Kitanomarukoen. The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo will be on your right at 3-1 Kitanomarukoen, Chiyoda City, Tokyo 102-8322. Parking is available nearby, but please be aware that it may incur a fee.

Public Transportation
From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line towards Ueno. This journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and travel towards Shibuya. Get off at the next station, which is 'Kitanomaru Koen.' From the station, it is a short 10-minute walk to The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. Exit the station and follow the signs towards Kitanomarukoen Park; the museum is located within the park grounds.
