Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from central Izumo, head north on Route 9 towards Matsue. After approximately 30 minutes, take the exit toward Matsue/Izumo Airport. Continue on Route 431 for around 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Route 180. Turn right onto Route 180 and follow the signs for Matsue. After about 5 minutes, turn left onto Tonomachi Street. Matsue Shrine will be on your left at 1 Tonomachi, Matsue, Shimane 690-0887. Parking is available nearby, but be prepared for potential fees.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    From Izumo City, head to Izumo-Shi Station and board the JR Sanin Line train towards Matsue. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Matsue Station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal located outside. Take the Matsue City Loop Bus (Green Line) and get off at the Matsue Shrine stop. From there, it is a short walk to the shrine entrance.
